What is delvera?
The Grand Republic of Delvera is a micronation on the North American continent.
Delvera is a society based on friendship, progress and innovation. Since 2013, Delvera has epitomized responsible governance, adherence to legal and ethical principles, and a strong sense of community. Our society is one that strengthens its individual members as its base, rather than forcing citizens to stand on an uncertain foundation. With each participating to the degree and in the manner most desired, the whole micronation benefits from a community of leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs and dilletantes.
Our system of government is a confederal republic of provinces. All citizens enjoy equal legal rights regardless of their province, territory or colony, though the right to be represented at the confederal level is enjoyed only by provincial citizens. Elections are held annually at the confederal level. Representatives of the people are elected in each province , and these regularly meet in the Chamber of Deputies — this comprises the legislative body of Delvera, which is led and presided over by the popularly elected President. Representatives of the provincial governments are also popularly elected at the same time, and these are convened in the Council of Governors, which acts as more or less of an oversight committee with very important functions for provincial powers. In the executive branch, the popularly elected Consul provides leadership for the government and official representation of Delvera to the outside world, and he retains a host of ministers to see to various aspects of the business of state.
